There’s a story which says that every morning, God sends two angels from heaven to come and visit us.
Who are these angels? Let’s meet them…
The first angel’s name is ‘Ask’…and the second angel’s name is ‘Praise’.
Both of these angels are carrying baskets.
When we look at what is inside the first angel’s basket, we find that the basket is full, right to the top, overflowing with our prayer requests to God such as ‘give me a big house, I want a new car, get me a better job and I want lots of money.’
Now, when we look to see what is inside the second angel’s basket, we find that it is empty …they say, that only sometimes, right at the bottom of the basket there are one or two words of praise.
Think about God…every day, God has lots and lots of our requests to supply more and still more of our ‘demands’ and ‘wants’.
Will we ever be satisfied and grateful for what we already have?
Tell me, have we been praying all this time begging God to supply and yet, we hardly ever make time to thank God that we are alive, and praise Him for every heart-beat and every breath.
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we would seek, and direct our prayers to give praise and glory to the ‘Giver’ first, before we focus so much of our prayer-time on seeking the ‘Gifts’ and what we can get from the God.
Everyday let’s make God our pleasure ….because God is everything we need!

A Gift from God
A man received a greeting card which read:
‘God gives you 1 year of opportunity, 12 months of blessings, 52 weeks of miracles, 365 days of His love, 8,760 hours of His presence and 525,600 minutes of wonders…and when it’s leap year, we get one extra day…a special gift from God.’
Morning after morning, God’s matchless grace is renewed with 24 unspoilt hours to serve Him.
And each day, God gives us 86,400 seconds to love, forgive, bless, act, respond…to do in faith unto others as He has done unto us.
The gift of life is a very precious gift from God.
Now, let’s take a look at your body…
God can take a shell of skin just a few feet high and put in it 263 bones and 500 muscles and 970 miles of blood vessels.
God gave you a little heart that’s only about 6 inches long and 4 inches wide…and yet, it will pump blood about 70 times a minute, 100,000 times a day, 38 million times a year, and 2-1/2 billion times in 70 years.
Not only that, but your heart will pump 2-1/2 ounces of blood per beat, 660 pounds of blood per hour, and 2,890 tons of blood a year.
No wonder the psalmist said: ‘I am fearfully and wonderfully made’ (Psalm 149:14)
God has given you His Word…the Holy Bible which is filled with all His promises.
If you should count the blessings of God, how great would be the sum of them…they are more in number than the sand.
To God be the glory and praise!
