Sample text:

Meaghan grimaced and looked up from her clipboard. The dry, dead yard taunted her, with not a single speck of snow to add some holiday cheer. Meaghan enjoyed nothing more than planning and organizing parties, and she was known for running her party schedule with an iron fist, but even she had not yet found a way to control the weather. I wonder if I should buy snow next year. Someone has to be able to ship it, she thought.

Not withstanding the errant weather, the party looked like it would be a success. And that was undoubtedly due to her tireless efforts. Meaghan had spent weeks fussing over the decorations, party games, and menu. The cookies alone had required five days of internal debate and a spreadsheet of color-coded options. She had even badgered her three best friends, Courtney, Emily, and Sonali, to spend most of the day setting up. The threesome had worked tirelessly, following Meaghan’s elaborate diagrams and minute instructions to the letter. Not without loud complaints, however.

All the time and stress would be worth it though; she had no doubt about that. The house would be filled with laughing children, relaxed guests, and plenty of holiday cheer. It would be like a Christmas card come to life – joy and happiness filling every space in the house, with a big crackling fire in the background to add toasty warmth to the night.
