The world has watched millions of the Arabs demonstrating in the Revolution squares. But the revolution started at Facebook and Twitter. For example “We Are All Khaled Saeed Page” organized the first demonstration in the Egyptian Revolution.
This book is an attempt to analyze the phenomenon of the Facebook politicians in the Middle East. My experience as a Facebook politician gave me the chance to analyze and criticize the phenomenon from within.
Genre: POLITICAL SCIENCE / NGOs (Non-Governmental Organizations)The Facebook Politicians And The Traditional Politicians:
We can say that the world of the Facebook leaders and the world of the traditional political leaders are parallel worlds. After all, the majority of the Facebook leaders did not convert to Presidents, Ministers, Parliament Members or featured parties’ leaders.
The world of the Facebook leaders and the world of the traditional political leaders have different characteristics. The Facebook leaders -depending on the power of idea- tend to be more idealistic, while the traditional political leaders tend to be more pragmatic. The Facebook leaders depend on the power of noble ideas while the traditional political leaders depend on bargains and compromises.
The traditional political leaders see the Facebook leaders as lucky persons. Their luck was very good but the Facebook leaders do not have the qualities of politicians. On the other hand, the Facebook leaders think that they achieved what the traditional leaders failed in for many years: the Facebook leaders succeeded in changing the tyrant regimes in a very short period, while the traditional politicians –for a long time- seemed to be just a political decoration.
