Ulisses Santiago was born in Brooklyn, New York, grew up in Chicago, studied Literature and Philosophy at the University of Puerto Rico, and returned to New York in 1990. He became Artistic Director of a Theater Company and worked in Advertising as a Copywriter and Creative Director creating advertising campaigns in New York City, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Mexico, and the US. He is an award-winning poet, a translator/interpreter, and has authored and produced TV series, Plays, Feature Film Screenplays, and over 100 TV commercials.
