Hello, I’m a huge literature fan, mainly horror, sci-fi and fantasy. I also have a formal bachelor degree in translation studies, as well as experience writing and translating scientific and translating medical texts.

My name is Thierry de Freitas Silva, I’m a translator, nurse, chemist and aspiring writer. I was born in the small city of Monteiro, but I’m currently living São Bernardo do Campo, Brazil. I learned English through video games, mainly PS1 rpg’s, when I was a child. During my teenage years I was introduced to more and more literature and began to read everything I could, that’s how I fell in love with classics.

Shakespeare (Macbeth is my favorite of his plays), the Modern Prometheus, Dracula, the Pit and the Pendulum, the Castle of Otranto, the Picture of Dorian Gray, I am legend, Sleepy Hollow, the Call of Cthulhu, of mice and man, lord of the flies… Those stories were so important to me because they made me see the true importance of translators, a good translation can change lives.

That’s why I got my bachelor degree in translation studies, I hope to build bridges between cultures, giving people the chance to experience stories the same way as I did.
