I am an English–Brazilian Portuguese translator and English teacher with an academic and professional background in language and communication. I hold a degree in Journalism, which shaped my sensitivity to style, voice, and narrative structure, and strengthened my ability to work carefully and ethically with texts.
I lived for several years in the United States, an experience that deepened my cultural awareness and refined my command of English in both its written and spoken forms. This immersion continues to inform my work, allowing me to approach translation not only as a linguistic task, but as a cultural bridge between English-speaking and Brazilian Portuguese-speaking readers.
Currently, I work as an English teacher, with experience in both in-person and online classes, teaching students of different levels and goals. Teaching has sharpened my understanding of language mechanics, nuance, and register, and has reinforced my ability to explain, analyze, and reshape language with clarity and precision.
Alongside teaching, I have worked on translation projects in the steel industry and in the environmental field, experiences that strengthened my technical accuracy, terminology management, and adaptability across registers. I am also currently a volunteer subtitle translator and reviewer for the YouTube channel Reflections of Life, where I contribute to making reflective and philosophical content accessible to a wider audience.
I have a lifelong passion for reading, writing, and languages, with a particular interest in literature and literary style. I am currently taking an online translation course to further sharpen my skills. I am especially focused on developing my work as a literary translator, dedicating myself to the challenges of preserving voice, tone, and rhythm across languages. I am eager to gain further experience in literary translation and to collaborate with publishers on projects that value careful language work and thoughtful cultural adaptation.
