Being born in a multicultural family, I've had the chance to learn Italian, English and Portuguese from childhood. As a matter of fact, I usually make jokes about it because, indeed, I was born in Switzerland, I'm Italian because my mom is Italian - that's how it works there - and that's how I learned the language, I speak Portuguese because I've lived in Brazil since I was a child and I teach English because I've studied it since I was 9 and that's what my graduation is all about.
In fact, I graduated to be a translator and I had the chance to work on the translation of manuals, scientific articles and texts in the areas of mechanics, neurosurgery, food engineering, law and human resources from English and Italian to Portuguese. However, back then, being a freelancer would not pay my bills. That's when I became an English teacher and I've been doing this for the last 25 years.
Now, I decided it's time to go back to my childhood dream and restart working solely as a translator again. That's the main reason why I joined babelcube and I'm really willing to sharing my knowledge and experience with the people involved the this project.

Author review: La signora Rolo ha accettato la traduzione del mio libro, dopodiché è scomparsa senza mai rispondere ai miei messaggi. Inutile dire che questo è un comportamento poco professionale. Mezza stella perché zero non si può mettere. |
