He was founder of regional newspapers: El Foco, Pluma y Tinta, Satiricón and El Heraldo. In his hometown, Caracas, he worked as the head of the newspaper El Universal. He founded the national daily newspaper La Esfera in 1927, working in the position of Managing director during thirty years, until 1957. He obtained the National Journalism Award María Moors Cabot, granted by the University of Columbia in 1951.
