Hello!
My name is Paula Ledo. I’m 36 years old, born and raised in Brazil, and a native Portuguese speaker.
Since I was a child, I’ve been passionate about books. Perhaps I inherited this love from my mom, but reading has always been a favorite activity of mine—along with languages. As a teenager, I used to translate every song I liked, and that’s how I first learned basic English. Years later, I took an English course to build on what I already knew. I also studied Spanish in high school, and now I’m completing my bachelor’s degree in Portuguese and Russian Language and Literature at one of Brazil’s top universities: the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.
From 2017 to 2019, I taught Russian in a low-cost course at the university and worked as an English-to-Portuguese translator in a Brazilian company during a two-year internship. During that time, I translated over 558,000 words, ranging from certificates and abstracts to manuals, legal documents, and personal files.
Since 2021, I’ve been working full-time as a Language Specialist at Arcadia Translations, while also taking on freelance projects for translation companies worldwide.
Now, I’m ready to take the next step: building my own client base and helping you get your books translated!
