I am a translator and a word lover in different languages. When I read a book, I like to do some research on the author's life and other literary works to see if there are any similarities or references expressed in their writing.
I am one of those people who read labels in the supermarket to find false friends or semantic errors.
I'm actually passionate about anything that has to do with languages; in fact, as a child, I found entertaining to correct the incorrect uses of my native language with my family and friends, and it was easy for me to repeat words in other languages. When I grew up, my mom thought it would be a good idea to study Translation and to get a Professional Degree in what I naturally liked.
I was a volunteer translator for International Alliance of Inhabitants (www.habitants.org) for some years, and I have also volunteered for friends; I currently translate short stories to post them in my blog http://saybonjourtraducciones.blogspot.mx/, which I use as a reference for my clients. I founded a Translation Office with a friend, only a few months ago (www.saybonjour.com.mx).
Although I got a Professional Degree in Translation, I have worked in important companies such as American Express Mexico, Brown Forman Mexico and the mexican NGO Fondo para la Paz, I.A.P. ("Fund for Peace"), where I learned about banking, commerce, marketing and fundraising, as well as management skills and strategic planning.
Fiction, thrillers, suspense and satire are the genres that I find most exciting; essays and drama find me and catch me as well. I like to write short stories and share them with my friends.
I'm really looking forward to translating for an author soon.
