I come from Spain but I live in Germany. I have experience in teaching English and Spanish both in Germany and Spain and have also translated books and articles into Spanish. Author review: It was my great fortune to work with Maria as the translator of my book. Not only does she have an excellent command of the English language, she has a true gift for translating the essence of the words (individually) and the story as a whole. Her professionalism is on par with her outstanding linguistic skills. Her communication skills made the process so easy; she didn't hesitate to ask me questions if something was unclear and offered excellent suggestions. She answered my questions in a very timely manner, and surprised me by completing the project well ahead of schedule. The result is a beautiful and accurate translation, which was no easy feat given the number of invented words I used (pawfect, pawtner, etc). It isn't very often that you find someone so talented, professional and personable, but Maria is definitely that rare person and I highly recommend her. Author review: I can only recommend this translator. Maria accepted a challenge of translating an almost 500 pages historical novel, with a very specific - considering that the plot is set at around 300 BC - terminology (and I am talking of weaponry, military strategy, ancient customs etc.) and exceeded my expectations. A Spanish and German speaking colleague of mine read the translation with the German original to compare, and she confirmed that the style was more than adequate. Communication was always active, it was a real pleasure to have worked with Maria. Thank you very much! |

She is an exceptionally gifted linguist, who takes the time to understand the nuances of both languages for the most meaningful translations. My cozy mystery series contains many challenges, including specific dog terms, puns and recipes.
