I'm a Brazilian that loves stories. From an early age, my mother always made sure I was reading a book, and that built into me the unconditional love for literature.
I started my professional life in business, but it never quite clicked with me. For the past 8 years, I felt out of place, never belonging. When 2020 came and Covid 19 came along, I took it as a sign that a change was needed.
So in 2020 I embraced another love of mine, the English language, and became an English Teacher. Never have I thought that so much fulfillment could exist!
By the beginning of 2021, I stumble upon an idea: what if I joined the things that I love the most and make it my job? What if I become a literary translator?
With that spark, research started. How can I become a translator? How can I be the best at it? Well, the answer was pretty clear: practice!
BabelCube gives me a great opportunity to practice and be able to bring stories to more people, all at once. I'm eager to start this new chapter and to share this love for literature.
