I have graduated in English Language and Literature from UFMG, Brasil and have worked as a teacher of English at language institutes, as a tutor and at college and as a tecnical and literary translator since 1992.
In 2008 I passed a state examination and was appointed/certified as a sworn translator, that is, I am one of the few licensed to make official translations of documentos in Brazil.
Translation for me, like the English and Portuguese languages, are more than just a job for me - it is a life passion. I have always had a great interest in science and as such I have specialized in the translation of academic and research papers for publication in the major international sience journals.
Quality has a price, and so does its lack - this is my motto. For the clients, unfortunately, they usually find out it is lacking when it is a bit too late. Many are my clients who have come to me after having learned this lesson the hard way. If you want it fast, good and cheap; well, I'm sorry to tell you I may not be the right translator for you. If your emphasis is on ethics, committment and quality, count me in.
