With a passion for languages since the age of nine, when I was given a French phrase book, I am now gearing up for a life as a full-time freelance translator. Having spent the last fourteen years in Spain working as an English teacher and translating in my free time, I have gained extensive experience both in translation and in the Spanish culture and language.
A gap year in Germany upon leaving school and a semester studying in the same city have also helped to broaden my knowledge in terms of language and culture.
As a child, I spent hours and hours reading books and was often told to "get your head out of that book and go out and play"! I now have less time for reading but still love the occasional (psychological) thriller in different languages (French - Guillaume Musso and German - Klüpfel/Kobr or Rita Falk in particular), as well as autobiograpical works related to travel (Michael Palin, Ranulph Fiennes...).
To date, I have translated a half-fact, half-fiction book on Competence Management from German to English (see link below), as well as two novels, one from Spanish and one from German, entitled "Unhappy Christmas" (Miguel Campion) and "Immortal Shadows" (Jannes C. Kramer).
