Ilkin is a native Turkish speaker, translator and language teacher. She has graduated with a Psychology and Art History degree from the University of Cape Town and continues her life in South Africa. Through her education and interest in linguistics, she possess good literacy and people skills. She translates with the belief that translation is much more than the words on a page, and requires an understanding of the cultural nuances of both the languages. Only then will the translator achieve a successful translation of a story, as the original author intended. She is currently working freelance and saving up to further her studies.
