My name is Hannah Fox, and I'm an independent translator with over six years of experience. Throughout my professional and academic career, I have focused on communication. From my master’s degree in public health to the work I have done in nutrition and education research, I have always sought to align my professional experiences with my goal of communicating effectively with individuals from different linguistic and cultural backgrounds. In my current position, I own and operate a small translation venture working mostly in academic research, policy research and program evaluation, and social work. My main language combination is English to Spanish, although I have also done work in Spanish and Portuguese to English.
In my previous position I was tasked with managing the translation team, which included communicating with projects, delegating assignment to junior staff, completing translations, performing quality assurance, and handling billing. The experiences I have had with the translation and interpretation in the realms of social and health research have allowed me to further strengthen my skills as a well-rounded professional.
My experience in translation is further strengthened by the time I have spent abroad learning the languages I work with. This includes Argentina, Spain, Brazil, and Portugal, among others.
