GianLuca Ellena was born in 1968 in Naples, Italy, to Ligurian parents. He grew up in Avellino and graduated in foreign literatures and contemporary history. For his job he has traveled extensively visiting Africa, Middle East and the Balkans. In 2011 wrote his first novel, "Nebbia sulla Ferrovia" and two years later "Ventisei Luglio". Both his novels deal with italian world war II history. He completed in February 2017 his third novel, "Il regalo del Nawruz, history of an Afghan boxer", the story of an afghan boy moving with his family along the years in Iran, in USA and then back home in Herat (Afghanistan). In 2017 he wrote "Undici" and the sequel of "Il regalo del Nawruz", "Neve sporca a Kabul, il ritorno del Capitano Yasir". So far all his novels are written in italian but he would like to translate his stories in english. He is a boxing referee and judge of Italian boxing federation (FPI). He does not own blog or website but he is very active on Twitter.
