Deepak Menon is a 2013 Readers Favorite International Award Contest winning multi genre author as well as the PnP Authors international Short Story Contest 2014 Winner. Born in the picturesque city of Dehradun, in the beautiful Doon Valley, near the "Queen of the Hills", Mussoorie, Deepak Menon is the son of an Indian Army Brigadier. He owes much of his inclination towards reading and writing to his Aunt Promilla who was the principal of St Thoma's School in Dehradun, and his kind gentle and loving mother Barbara. He married Abha, an officer in the same bank he worked in. Both rose to the rank of Assistant General Managers and have two fine children - a son Samir completing Phd from Stanford CA, and his daughter Serena, a journalist in one of India's largest English dailies, The Hindustan Timesm where she is presently posted as an Assistant Editor with independant charge heading one of the HT Tabloids.
Years ago, when dreams were alive, and there were songs and paeans of love and adventure on every lip, as he puts it, Deepak sat beside his little children at bedtime and started telling them a bedtime story. He had no idea of which direction the story would take, nor what it would be about. There was no outline and there was no background paper before him. The first words that sprang to his lips were "Once upon a time, far far away.."! So was born the delightful Hero of the Tales of the Booga Dooga Land,Pickwick the Pixie!
Decades later, he finally felt that the family was stable, the children set on their way, and he resigned from his well paid job to embark on writing his books and fulfil the promise he had made to his family decades before.
Great review from the Times of India arrived and he was on the way to winning his first International award from Readers Favorite! He is working on his 11th Novel now
