I was born and raised in a small village near Zurich, in Switzerland. My love for books was born as soon as i was able to decipher those weird signs that were written all over the pages of my parent's bookshelf :) Once i started to read a story, i was unable to stop until i finished it, even if at the beginning i wasn't able to understand all of it, which was the case with my first read ("Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire"). When i was 13 years old we moved to Southern Italy. It was quite a shock for me, not least because i had to learn Italian from zero. With time passing i noticed that it's not always easy to say the same things in the same way in both languages. When i finished high school i started studying languages at the University of Pisa (Russian and English), and i loved all of it. I recently graduated and while writing my thesis i attended a specialization course for translation and interpreting. Now i want to finally apply what i learned and unite two of my biggest passions: reading and translating.
During my studies i have translated occasionally small texts to earn some pocket money. I also hae worked as a German teacher and still work as a language tutor on Italki ( www.Italki.com).
I speak both German and Italian fluently and have a C1 in English. I also speak some Russian, Spanish and French, but i don't feel confident as a translator for those languages.
