I am a university teacher, translator and writer currently living in central Brazil but native Irish. English is my native language. I have various graduate and undergraduate degrees and dipomas in specialised areas in whch I found myself working over the years. These qualifications include a Masters degree in International Relations, and two graduate degrees in Philosophy with Politics and the second in Theology.
I have a background in religious life as a catholic priest working in prison chaplaincy and with young people on the periphery of a large urban centre. I am also a collaborator for an NGO - International Social Services based in Geneva (SSI) which attempts to reconcile and reunite families torn apart through emigration.
I currently work as a teacher, translator and proofreader. I work dilegently, quickly and professionally. Living in Brazil allows me to seek reduced leves of remuneration and I can offer competitive rates on all work I undertake. Recently I have been specialising in translating academic articles and technical works for publication in foreign journals. As I mentioned, I am a lover of a wide variety of literature and so would love the opportunity to translate books.
As a language teacher I would also add that I am a recognised oral tester for the Cambridge international competency examinations. I firmly believe I can be as asset to your business and I would be willing to submit examples of my work to you - or should you prefer, I can undertake a small, voluntary piece of work to demonstrate my abilities. Looking forward to hearing from you soon. Ciaran Leonard
