Born in 1993 to a Puerto Rican mother and an American father, Benjamin Shepherd Quiñones is from a small city in New Jersey. He has Bachelor's degrees in Psychology and Spanish from Lehigh University and is currently studying to obtain his Master's in Counseling and Human Services.
As an author, educator, counselor and advocate for LGBT equality, one of his greatest passions in life is writing LGBT-positive science fiction/fantasy stories with compelling yet relatable plots and plenty of page-turning action. He also an affinity for the study of psychology, the color yellow, animals, swimming, Latin music, and spicy food.
He wrote his first novel, The Gene Pull, when he was 18 years old, originally for NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month). Shortly after, he competed in Harmony Ink Press's Young Authors Challenge and won with his short story, Glitterhead (see Harmonious Hearts anthology). He hasn't stopped writing since and plans to release another novel in the near future.
