B. Maestro went to Extremadura University (Spain), where she studied History. Also, she studied Master of Social Anthropology and Master of high school teaching. She is the oficial writer of San Martín de Trevejo (Spain).
She started as a teacher in Vál de Xálima High School, she worked in the support service for teaching in Extremadura University. Previously, she works in the University Library for 24 months. She has participated in the following conferences at Extremadura University: “Archivos Históricos. Una fuente inagotable de sabiduría” and “Claves para la Realización y Exposición del Trabajo Fin De Máster”. Nowadays she works in Universidad de Extremadura.
She is author of studies about San Martín de Trevejo like: “San Martín de Trevejo: historia de una villa olvidada (1930-1939)” and “Cofradías Mañegas: un recorrido histórico sobre las antiguas fraternidades de San Martín de Trevejo”. This last research has been awarded by Xavier de Salas Fundation with a Award Young Researched in 2016. Also, she has writed all contents about official website of the town hall in San Martín de Trevejo, and she colaborated in the newspaper: Región Digital. Her last investigation about Sierra de Gata is been publicated with the title: “Teachers and pupils. History of education in Sierra de Gata”. Recently, she has publicated a study about Inquisition called “Un crucifijo, dos candeleros y dos majaderos. La Inquisición en Peraleda de la Mata”.
His culminating work is the historical novel published in 2018 entitled “The Fire of the Heretic”, located among the hundred best-selling novels in Amazon within its category, adding sales in Spain, the United States and the United Kingdom. Almost, is the author of “Discovering the Inquisition”, a work that tells 21 real cases of people who were processed by the Spanish Inquisition. And other books: “The inquisitor’s ashes” and “Passages of history: Sierra de Gata”.
