I am a qualified translator (French and German to English) with a 2.1 in French and German from Cambridge University, and Distinction in an MA in Translation with Language Technology from Swansea. Having gained experience in a number of fields through voluntary translation work and internships from 2009 onwards, I am now an in-house translator working primarily in legal/technical areas. I am, however, keen to also work on more creative texts, having had very positive experience of translating journalistic and more literary articles. I am, therefore, very attracted by the Babelfish concept and am extremely keen to play a part in this project.
I consistently produce very accurate high-quality work, and always meet deadlines. My accuracy and speed has frequently been commented on, by tutors, colleagues and clients alike. My flexibility, and the way in which I am able to translate texts of a range of genres extremely well, is also often praised. I produce accurate, consistent technical translations, but am also able to free myself from the source text to the necessary degree in order to produce translations which are stylistically and culturally adapted to the target audience as appropriate, for instance when working on more creative, literary or journalistic texts.

Author review: Work with Anthea was very close and always a pleasure. She had a lot of good ideas, but also took advice. She translated very swiftly, but never to the detriment of the text. I can highly recommend her work. |
