India 2.0 - Tweeting in Tuk-Tuks by Stefan Mey

India's new middle-class embraces tech and social media. In this world, a journalist tries to do business - and faces intercultural challenges instead.

India 2.0 - tweeting in tuk-tuks

During a five-month-trip through India, I wrote my book "India 2.0 - Tweeting in tuk-tuks". It's a book about tech in India, the growing middleclass, intercultural encounters and religion.

The story: I came to India to work there as a journalist, but intercultural difficulties and health problems got in the way - which made me give up on the job and travel all through the country instead. I visited conferences and ashrams, talked to hippies in Goa and scientific experts on hinduism. The whole book is self-ironic and humorous, but also gives advice to people who want to work as freelancers in this growing economy.

"India 2.0" is popular among digital nomads and freelance workers in the German-speaking world. Given the fact that India is the second-biggest country of English-speaking people (see http://exploredia.com/how-many-people-in-the-world-speak-english-2013/), I see huge market potential here.
