I am an Italian specialized translator and conference interpreter and I love literature. My master thesis focused on the first Italian translation of a Brazilian drama (A Falecida, by Nelson Rodrigues) accompanied by an analysis of my theatrical text translation. During my studies in specialized translation and conference interpreting I have studied in Italy (Rome and Trieste) and Belgium (6 months in Brussels) and I did an internship at a publishing house in Portugal (2 months in Lisbon). I currently work as a freelance interpreter and translator. I translated articles and short stories for some newspapers and online magazines, including a musing from "Livro do desassossego" (The Book of Disquiet) by Fernando Pessoa, but I mostly work as a simultaneous interpreter. I love this challenging and exciting job that requires quick thinking, a constant high level of attention, promptness, precision, technique, and alertness when translating. However, I wish to practice more literary translation, which is quite the opposite of simultaneous interpreting as it requires research and reassessment, adaptations, and lengthy reflections. Since I was a child, I have loved fiction. I like writing stories, challenging myself to write long evocative descriptions and dialogues that give a realistic voice to the characters. I have always loved to read short stories and novels and, over the last few years, I have also developed a passion for theatrical literature. My dream is to enter the world of publishing.
