Day 30

The power of prayer

Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.

Proverbs 29:12 NIV

Prayer changes things. A life of prayer can be generational, relational and sensational. I would recommend that if you are married that you are in constant prayer. Marriage without prayer is dangerous. It is necessary for where God is taking you. Life is full of turbulent times. Many people have hidden agendas and place demands on our lives in ways that require prayer to simply keep us centered in God. When we pray, we invite God into our lives on a daily basis. We demonstrate we trust him and he will remain our focal point in the midst of trying times.

Praying together also creates an intimacy that cannot be fabricated. This intimacy isn’t created from gift giving or romantic dinners. This intimacy is given by God. It allows us to become vulnerable with our husbands yet feel safe at the same time. It is a rewarding intimacy, to pray with your husband to the Almighty and wait together for Almighty results.

I understand all husbands are not ready yet to lead their wives in this way. However, this should not stop us from covering them. My husband and I pray together daily. However, there are times when I rest my hand on his head and pray while he is asleep. Sometimes he knows, sometimes he does not. God knows.
