Synopsis
Detectives Reilly and Torres leave the Stewart Museum of Fine Arts. It seems like an ordinary visit. They are unaware that they've just walked through the calm before the storm. The next morning, they are summoned to headquarters with urgent news. Several priceless masterpieces have been stolen overnight from the very museum they had visited.
They are assigned to lead the investigation. Reilly and Torres quickly discover this is no ordinary theft. Their pursuit leads them into Boston's criminal underworld. Here art is currency, and silence is enforced at gunpoint. At the center of the intrigue is Vincent Ferrara, a mobster whose ties run deep. There is also Stephen Kurkjian. He is a dogged journalist who is chasing the truth behind months of unsolved art crimes.
Every step brings the detectives closer to unraveling a huge network. It's the gambling network of power, greed, and deception. They follow every single lead they get, yet the paintings remain just out of reach.
As time runs out, Reilly and Torres must decide how much of themselves they're willing to risk to bring the art back. They want to restore history before it disappears forever.
