I believe in honesty. Having only gone live less than a month ago (Dec. 2018) and not pushing my few contacts to buy. Sales have only reached double figures. I have had some recommendations both on FB and 1 on Kindle. which has given it 5 stars....and is NOT FAMILY NOR FRIEND.
The story will tell its own tale and may well be, as with any new author with no massive sales pitch and costly opening, that the arrival of the second book of this 8+ book series will be the start for book one being taken seriously.

I didn’t need to be told twice.
My mind was about to close everything out and I thought I would check Milana. Holy Zorgon! Her mind was wide open. I nudged her and visually told her to lock her mind down. She pulled a face and was about to speak but stopped before a word fully formed. She did it and now I just left my mind open to the three of us.
Now, although I couldn’t see her with my eyes I opened up my mind's eye and could see Beloldwen as she started to duck and rise, she was taking up an ancient spell casting stance as she now moved around in a circle. I allowed myself to see from above. I was aware that the circle she was making was around the two of us. Within the circle, she had included a young birch sapling and a group of rocks that lay alongside the narrow well-worn track we were walking down.

Hold in protection all within,
Keep from Harm, none can break this charm
Lest hundredfold return to them.

The rest of her words were lost to me as she turned to sound codex to re-enforce what she had already done. But why the sapling and the mound of rocks? And then I knew. From where I could see from above I caught a movement a little further up the path. A slight waver in the air. Almost like a portal opening. But, it couldn’t be!
