The hardest thing Cody Wilde ever had to do was keep the promise he made to his dying father—stay away from trouble. Growing up in a rural Texas town and being bullied by the sheriff’s son made it nearly impossible to control the notorious Wilde temper. Only having his good friend, Cassie, and her family for support made the task bearable.
Cassie Strong never understood why people picked on Cody. He was sweet, sexy, and had a silly side that he showed only to her. When tragedy strikes her family, it’s Cody who is by her side and their friendship blossoms into something more.
But when Cody’s lifelong enemy threatens the one thing that could make him break his promise, will he risk losing Cassie or will he be strong enough to hold on to his father’s last wish?
Strong & Wilde: Part One is part of novella serial. The Strong & Wilde serial is my most successful of all my books. My plan is to do some heavy marketing of the translation once it's ready for release.
“Cassie, I had a moment of weakness. I got scared. But, I love you. That’ll never change. I’ll always love you, and I’ll always want to be with you.”
She blinked, her eyes unbelieving. “After all this, after all I put you through, you still love me?”
“This was not your fault. None of it. So stop thinking that way. And believe me when I say that despite everything we’ve been through and will go through, I’ll never stop loving you.”
“I don’t understand. How can you still love me?”
I brushed the hair out of her eyes and gazed into the most beautiful soul I’d ever known. How could anyone not love her? God, help me find the words to tell her how much she means to me.
“There’s a thousand reasons why I love you. I love the way your eyes twinkle when you laugh at my lame jokes. I love the way my pillow smells of vanilla and flowers in the morning. I love the way you danced in the rain when we were at the drive in. You even had me dancing with you, and I didn’t care if people thought we were crazy because all I saw was you.”
I paused, brushing my lips over hers tenderly. “Cassie, your love for me is . . . there ain’t nothing like it. It’s wild. It’s strong. I love the person I am when I’m with you. I can be myself. I don’t have to pretend. I can play on a swing. I can pinky swear. I can do things other people say ain’t manly. But when I do them with you, I feel like more of a man than with anyone else. I could give you more reasons but when it comes down to it there’s really only one.”
“What’s that?” Her sweet breath hit against my face.
I splayed my fingers over her cheeks, gazing deeply into her eyes. Taking a breath, I whispered, “I just can’t live without you.”
