My choices did not at all times result in the outcomes I expected. I was perplexed by the reoccurring difficulties I faced until the Lord revealed that my repeated choices were the root cause.
Once I recognized this pattern, I could change my choices and avoid the same negative patterns that I was repeatedly falling into. It wasn't just about addressing my wrongdoing and choosing a different path with compassion; it was also about understanding the root cause of my struggles and actively changing my behavior.
Every choice comes before a decision, and every thought precedes a choice. As a result, we need to practice thinking critically, as Philippians 4:8 emphasizes. To consider and act morally, we must guard our ideas and think about truthful, pure, just, noble, holy, virtuous, and praiseworthy things.
Placing the blame on other factors or people gets us entangled in the web of our history. It feels like someone glued us to flypaper—we keep seeing the same things repeatedly until our perspective shifts.
It turns out that hardship serves as a training ground for greatness. Everybody experiences difficulty to varying degrees, and one's capacity for happiness frequently relies on the relative challenges of the given week.
Despite this, 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (TPT) reads: "Be cheerful no matter what; pray all the time; thank God no matter what happens. This is the way God wants you who belong to Christ Jesus to live."
