Rebecca Watson never cared for all the money she grew up with. Not until she was old enough to claim her trust fund and do with it as she pleased. Now she runs a non-profit community center in the projects of Chicago, hoping to keep teens off the streets. Unfortunately, this doesn't make her popular with a new gang in the area. With all her worries, she doesn’t have time to think about love.
Officer Sean Thompson has a reputation with the local teens. They know him as Officer Danger because of how much he loves chasing the next adrenaline rush. After a stint in the army as a paratrooper, he's back on his home turf wondering where the next thrill will lead him.
Two people trying to help others can’t help but feel a connection. Will Rebecca break her one dating rule—no men with dangerous jobs—to give Sean a chance?

“Ms. Watson,” Amara ran to her side, tears streaming down her face. “Are you okay?”
“I’m fine,” Rebecca managed to say as she glanced at the blood soaking through the slit in the cream-colored fabric. The sight of it made her light-headed so she refocused on Amara. “Where’s Zoe?”
“She ran home as soon as the men started chasing you,” Amara said.
Rebecca felt nauseous. She rubbed the grit off one palm onto her dress slacks. They were ruined anyway. Falling and crawling had ripped the fabric around her knees. The sight of the gravel and pinpricks of blood there sent her brain a message of more pain. The stinging in her side, palms, and knees increased, but she was more worried about the blood dripping from the slice on her torso. Figuring her hands were as clean as she could hope, she pressed the one over the cut. The warm, sticky liquid quickly covered her fingers.
A squad car screeched to a stop several feet in front of her, and a second police car pulled in beside them. Three blurs in uniform ran past her for the alley. Another shadow appeared, providing relief from the sun that beat down on her. She didn’t look up. Mostly she concentrated on breathing and trying to stay calm.
“Ma’am, what happened?” the voice sounded vaguely familiar.
A strange clenching in her stomach made her afraid to look at him. Her gaze slowly drifted from the shiny black shoes, past the black pants, the belt loaded with gadgets, to the blue shirt and badge. The man was in great shape. She finally looked into his face confirming what she had suspected.
“Rebecca?” Superman Sean said her name.
