The fascinating story of King Arthur began with a marital problem. The king of Britain Uther Pendragon wanted to marry the fair Igraine of Cornwall so she could become his queen. Unfortunately, Igraine was not in favor of this marriage and so Uther asks the help of a magician named Merlin who solved the problem, and Uther and Igraine married happily.
To reward Merlin, the king promised that he would give their first son to Merlin to raise him. And so happened; when the son was born, Merlin got the baby and baptized him by the name of Arthur.
After a few years, King Uther became seriously ill and before dying, he said that his son Arthur will be the heir to the throne. No noble did not even know the existence of an heir and so the nobles who were present with few thousand of followers were ready to claim the crown.
With the help of a Mystic Sword, Arthur was able to convince all commons and nobles that he was destined to inherit the realm. Finally, he was made a knight and after that, he was crowned king of the land.

Preface
The Story of King Arthur is full of knightly encounters, valorous deeds and acts of courtesy and can therefore touch everybody’s imagination.
The story of King Arthur began in Wales in the fifth century and is one of the oldest legends of the British Isles. There are some doubts about how much in this story is true and how much is due to the imagination. It is admitted that in those years there was a Celtic king named Arthur who was a noble sovereign who added glory to the Celtic race.
King Arthur became the ideal sovereign of the Britons and they enriched him with every noble trait which could be borrowed from the lives of their heroes.
It is the purpose of this first volume to relate the fascinating story of King Arthur's the happy reign and the many valiant deeds of himself and his knights.
