“Thornton, you must have nerves of steel to be sitting two feet from that box of donuts without batting an eyelash.” After taking a Boston cream-filled donut from the box in the middle of the conference table, Special Agent Boris Hamilton, the deputy chief of the Naval Criminal Investigation Staff, sat down in the chair next to Murphy at the head of the table.
