This book is based on experience and also experimentation. I felt the debilitating hopelessness of depression on and off for ten years while I was in my late teens and twenties, and I want to help you, if you too feel lost in that heaviness -- that sense of hopelessness. I would like to remind you of the powerful teaching from Jesus about transformation, this time from the New Living Translation of the Bible. Romans 12:2 teaches, “Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.” Yes! I love this.
This book is for those who want:
.Reduced stress and anxiety
.To lessen depression symptoms
.Better physical and mental health
.More joy and less worry
.Improved self-awareness and self-esteem
.More mental clarity
.To learn to relax
.More inspiration and motivation
.To get back to feeling like themselves
This is exactly what I intend to convey to you through this book. We can not be afraid to think differently than the world seems to think. As we begin to think differently about everything, including depression, our outer life begins to change.
In this book you will find revolutionary ideas about overcome depression
The horrifying realisation that I have made is that psychological assessments, diagnoses, and interventions are based almost entirely on the patient’s self-reporting. This is to say what we verbally and explicitly tell our doctors. And what we tell our doctors is taken at face value as if it were some objective fact. Now, what if the patient distorts reality, omits the truth, or plain out lies? I know that this happens. I’ve done all three of the above for seemingly no reason. Depression played mind games with me every single day and led me to behave in ways which I didn’t recognise or felt that I had control over. So how can a doctor base depression intervention entirely on what I say?
