I should never have disobeyed my parents and come out west for school.
It’s been a nonstop avalanche of awful situations since I got here.
As soon as I walk outside, I see that snowflakes have fallen over the dark windows of closed stores, and have turned the mud on the sidewalks white.
I would at least feel grateful that it’s only a flurry at this point. But, since moving out here, I’ve learned that a snow shower is literally the calm before the storm.
It also doesn’t help that I decided to wear a super short, blue and white plaid skirt to work today.
I know that I should have at least worn pants. But, I come from a part of the country that’s pretty damn hot and sunny year round.
It’s a beautiful thing when fashion isn’t limited by weather conditions.
Back where I’m from, attention to one’s personal appearance goes a long way. Here, it pretty much doesn’t matter at all.
I guess I have a hard time accepting what doesn’t make sense to me.
