A log crackled in the fireplace as it warmed the room up. Snow fell outside and covered the fields. Ginnifer rubbed her arms to ward off the chill seeping through the window. Night had fallen and Dallas had finally gotten the baby to lay down to sleep. They had the evening free to enjoy each other and she looked forward to it. A night with no obligations was rare for them and ever since Montana had been born they didn’t have nearly as much alone time as she’d have liked. She was a little over a year old and on a regular sleeping schedule. It helped them to plan for the rare occasion for adult time.
