Description for editor
Caleb Carson wakes to the welcoming face of Maria, who has been in heaven almost since New Jerusalem came to Earth three hundred years before. He is very confused at first and surprised to be there. After a few days meeting people in the village nearby, he decides to go on a search for his parents. Before he leaves, an angel arrives in the village and announces to all that Caleb is called to go to Jerusalem to appear before Jesus, the ruler of the world. Nervous and elated at the coming adventure, he is pleased that new friends offer to go with him. They get a ride on a riverboat captained by John Newton, the man who wrote the song, Amazing Grace. They cross the Atlantic which is now almost dry but for swamps, savanna and jungle covered mountains. On the way they see dinosaurs and intelligent animals. They meet people from many ages and cultures.
When one arrives in heaven, many memories are withheld till one is ready to process them, such as one’s day of judgement or painful memories of the past. Heaven will last forever filled with growth, learning, adventures and purpose.
New Jerusalem is surrounded by a high wall. In the center of the city a tower fifty miles wide rises all the way into space and is divided into seven hundred levels. The bottom level contains the garden of Eden. There are many staircases leading upward with angels helping along the way. Each level has a lesson to teach. The spirit of God is strong there and many people of the world fear the coming lessons. To go upward in the tower, one must conquer themselves and become ready to go higher. God and His throne are at the top.
Caleb remembers his Anna, his lost love and begins to search for her, but he is directed to make haste to the tower not knowing that God is bringing her to meet him at just the right time, and not before he learns a few lessons of his own.
Anna’s guardian angel helps her and her friends along their journey to the tower.

Chapter One
...and there was no longer any sea. Revelation 21:1
Maria Rosetta Garcia stepped carefully as she hurried up the hill to the Birthing Shrine. She smiled, glancing up the trail in thought and stopped, frowning to pull her long skirt up to reveal her bare foot. "Ouch, that's the second time this week." Her big toe seemed normal and the pain was already fading, but, just the same, one should still be careful.
The path wound around full, green bushes and trees at the beginning of bud. The violet of new flowers already tinted upper branches.
The well-worn rocky path made one last turn as Maria paused to stare at the door of the shrine. It always stayed open-unless a new-birth had arrived. She grinned and hurried the last few feet up to the closed door, then stopped to compose herself. Fidgeting with excitement, she brushed her hands quickly down her skirt and blouse smoothing nonexistent wrinkles and paused to take a deep breath. Perhaps she would be blessed to find a child, or bless His name, a baby. She so wanted to raise a small one. Her village had only received two this year—not much for a village this size.
She pushed the door open, propping it with a peg lying on the floor and walked into shaded warmth. Light-beams streamed through vents high up ancient stone walls. Hurrying across the vestibule, she approached the door-way of one of the rooms in the side passage and, pausing again, went to a knee and said a quick prayer. Rising to her feet, she pushed the door open and stepped inside.
A man lay on a narrow bed of woven cotton and wool.
Sighing, she reminded herself that any new birth is always cause for celebration. Patiently, she knelt down by the sleeping figure and waited.
