Sample text:

Eric’s nerves settled after Kerri asked him not to talk about their future during Jen’s time. However, over the months since he first asked her to marry him, he had seen the longing in her eyes. He hoped that meant this time she would say yes. But he thought that before. Every once in a while, Kerri would pull away emotionally, just for a moment. It’s the only reason he knew there was still something she hadn’t shared with him. That worried him.

For now, he chose to enjoy holding her close as the tram sped back down Spring Street and the historic shopping district. The sun was starting to set, making the decorations on the light poles and shops stand out.

“I love this town,” Kerri sighed beside him.

“It’s grabbed my heart, that’s for sure.”

Kerri looked up at him through her lashes. “You’d never want to live anywhere else?”

“Nope, but wouldn’t you like to travel and see other parts of the world? We’d always come back here.” Was this her concern?

A huge smile broke across her face. “That sounds lovely. After hearing Brynn go on and on about Italy, I kind of want to see it for myself.”

“We should do it then.” The tram jerked to a stop in front of the Basin Hotel. “And someone should really teach your uncle how to drive.”

Kerri’s laughter rang out. “Come on.”

They folded blankets and crawled out like the rest of the group.
