I was born in Belgrade, Serbia in 1970. I graduated from the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Philology, and went to postgraduate studies at the University of Oslo, Faculty of Humanist Sciences, where I studied in English. I obtained IELTS certificate as a proof of my English command. Besides Serbia, I lived in England, Sweden and Norway.
My native language is not offered as a choice here at all - it is Serbian. It is the same language as Croatian and Bosnian, only for political reasons it is called otherwise, and I translate professionally from and to Croatian and Bosnian. I also translate from and to English and Russian, and only from (not to) Swedish, Norwegian, Slovenian, Macedonian and Bulgarian.
I have 30 years of experience and many books, journalist articles, commercial texts, websites and even documents about health conditions, simoultaneous interpretations of business meetings, etc.
I am also a creative writer and a journalist myself, with several books published, and I presume it is utterly important when translating to display creativity in finding solutions for phrases and ideas expressed in original text.
