I was born in Asturias (Northern Spain) from a Spanish mother and a French father, and I studied French until I reached High School, where I switched to English. My love for creative writing, music and poetry was fostered by my family, allowing me to study at the Professional Music School of Oviedo. However, my research interests also drove me to achieve a Spanish 5-year Bachelor Degree in Biology. Afterwards, I moved to Wales to carry on with my career and studied Macrobiotics for three and a half years, a PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) and an MSc in Research Methods in Psychology.
Whilst studying, I carried out many jobs, including voiceover artist, music composer, freelance vegan chef and Spanish language assistant. I also did some voluntary work as a translator, for a children's book, a natural healing website and a speleology documentary; and as a live interpreter in many occasions (border control, hospital, healing circles).
What I enjoy translating the most are works of poetry, drama or books for youngsters or children. I feel I can connect with the poetic licences and wordgames, and I enjoy trying to keep a rhythm in the poetry works. However, with my academic background, I feel capable to translate from self-help and coaching books to more scientific-themed ones.
