Versatile Victorious Vandana - That's how I see myself!
Versatile, because I have worked in various functions and industries before I finally chose social sector. Market research, Content Writing, Proposal Writing, Teaching and Programming for Child Welfare are some of the hats that I have worn in 16 years of my career.
Victorious, because I have been a fighter till winning the battles in life. Working with startups, in most of my jobs, I was considered a go to person when the organisation needed to a new function and in one of my manager's words, "We know that you will get it done!". In personal life, too, there are a lot of battles fought and won!
Vandana...well...the name my parents chose for me!
As per my professional biography:
I love mathematics and by popular choice of career in my time, someone who loved math has to be an Engineer. I passionately conquered Engineering and got a job in Marketing. That's where I had discovered my talent of writing. While at college, I was also giving tuitions to a sixth grader in Hindi...oh how I loved the language! In early days, for jokes and casual fun we would translate the lyrics of the bollywood songs.
In my current job at Helping Hand Welfare Society, I have a dual role of designing programs for Child Welfare and Development alongwith Fundraising for the organisation.
In the year 2003, I found my passion for teaching and have since then continued working with children...and in 2014, I found an opportunity to translate a book for amazingfacts.org and a few chapters of a study guide.
I have been writing poems (http://1thena.blogspot.in/), articles (mostly anonymous due to sensitivity of the matter - can be provided on request) in both English and Hindi Languages for personal blogs. I have also written website content for our organisation (www.hhws.org).
I would rate my proficiency of written English as intermediate and of Hindi as advanced.
