He is consultant paediatric diabetologist and endocrinologist at Imperial College London Diabetes Centre, Abu Dhabi. He has a strong clinical interest in paediatric diabetes and its related technology.

His interest began in 1996, when diabetes technology was not as advanced as it is now. Dr Muammar worked in North Africa initially, then consolidated his experience in the UK for more than a decade and currently works in the Middle East. His exposure to different environments and working with many experts has improved his way of thinking towards improving the care provided to children with diabetes.
