Subrat Mohanty was born in 1993 in Bhubaneswar in India. He completed his schooling in Bhubaneswar and pursued his Bachelors degree in petroleum engineering from University of Petroleum Engineering and Energy Studies,Dehradun. Presently, he works as a full time petroleum engineer apart from writing books.
His first two e-books - Voices of Silence (Part-1 and Part-2) were published in the year 2015. His first book - an anthology of over hundred poems named 'The Shades of My Mind' was published in 2016 and was appreciated by many. In 2016, he published a romantic novella-'The Half Story'In April 2017, his second anthology of poems - 'Those Four Years' was published. The book narrated the experiences of the author as an university student in the foothills of the Himalayas. Recently the author has published yet another short anthology of romantic couplets in the form of a fictional memoir.
Subrat's writings revolve around life and nature. The poet dissects various aspects of life from a philosophical perspective, trying to question and understand reality of the world.
