I started writing in 2014, and after structuring my creativity around a full-time job for more than a year (fifteen hour days - I love them), I was able to resign and pursue my writing career full-time in 2015. With this change of career came a number of new endeavours - publishing deals, regular convention appearances, a hesitant fondness for Twitter, the ability to work on my writing full-time, a nifty office, invitations to provide stories for multiple anthologies, and - the biggest thing for any author - an influx in sales.
And with the sales came exposure.
In the last three years, I have achieved a plethora of 'bucket list' moments. Meeting Shaun Hutson, seeing my work featured alongside some of the horror greats in some beautiful anthologies (which feature Graham Masterton, Ramsey Campbell, Shaun Hutson, Jack Ketchum, Adam Nevill, Michael Bray, to name a few), a membership to the Author's Guild/Horror Writer's Association, seeing my work reviewed in Scream magazine, and having my books translated into Audiobook.
I have also become a co-director of Dark Chapter Press, an English-based publisher that focuses on the future of horror. My first anthology for this company, Kids, became a #1 bestseller on Amazon, and is consistently featured in the Top 10 to this day (the title was released in 2016).
But there's always been one thing missing - I've never expanded into the foreign markets.
I regularly check my Amazon reports/SEO data, and my books garner strong interest and sales in several foreign countries, including Spain, Italy, Germany and India. I have received generous feedback from these readers, those who actually read my English books, and they tell me that the demand is there.
Which is why I am joining Babelcube today.
My books regularly chart in the Top 100 on Amazon on release (in various charts), and I make a regular appearance in the Top 100 Horror Authors on Amazon too. As mentioned, I work full-time on my career, which has seen fifteen novel/novella releases since 2014, as well as a host of short stories and collaborations.
My solo titles are The Customer is Always..., All or Nothing, Cine, 89, 8 Church Field, Outbreak, and Oedema, as well as Charlotte, Awakening and Amy (collectively known as the Charlotte Chronicles), and a trio of short story collections (Whispers - Volume 1, 2, 3).
I have also released Grin and Dani: A Dani Scott Novella, which feature in the same thriller universe. The first of these is my current bestselling title - it featured in the Top 20 on Amazon for three straight months back in 2015. Four sequels are in the works for this popular series.
All of my works feature in the horror/thriller genre. I am looking to translate all of these titles into multiple languages.
As a whole, my books have hundreds of reviews on Amazon (most of which are 4-5 stars), and my work has been compared to that of Shaun Hutson, Richard Laymon, and even Stephen King. I'm ready to take this next step in my career - please, join me!
