My name is Steve Touret, I am a 37-year old teacher/translator. Here are a few lines about my background.

I hold a B.A and a M.A in Foreign Languages (English) applied to Business and graduated from the University Jean Moulin (Lyon, France) in 2010.

I lived 6 months in Australia (Melbourne) and 4 months in Northern Ireland (Belfast) where I worked as an FFL (French Foreign Language) teacher at a Grammar School and at the Alliance Française. I have perfect command of the English language and know the inherent subtleties of the different countries (UK English vs US English amongst others).

I have 12 years of experience in EFL teaching, 7 of which in higher education. I have been working in universities (Jean Moulin Lyon, Sciences Politiques Lyon, Paul Sabatier Toulouse) and private schools (business schools, professional training centres) where I teach English as a Foreign Language course integrated to the following courses: management, business, trade, political sciences, IT, law, insurance, HR, banking, accounting, sports and biochemistry.

I also lived for 3 months in Perugia (Italy) and spent a year in Mexico (several cities) in full immersion as part of my numerous experiences abroad. I practise Spanish and Italian on a daily basis for work and personal purposes.

I have been practising translation for a long time as a hobby as I am thrilled by the complexity of the task: the search for the "bon mot", the art of contextualisation, the necessary adaptation to each culture etc. These are all elements which make translation an interesting, enriching and rewarding activity. It has been 2 years since I started translating professionally, an activity that perfectly completes my work as an EFL teacher. 

As for my interests, they go from traveling to politics (and social sciences) by way of football/soccer, cooking, reading (Hemingway, Orwell, Steinbeck, Chomsky, Zola) etc.
