I completed my Masters degree in Hindi Language in 2006 and have done diploma training in translation. I have an experience of almost 12 years in translation (English to Hindi). To me, translation gives me the opportunity of constant learning. A reader just reads any article or a book etc but a translator has to understand that perfectly so that he or she can express that beatifully in the target language. In short, it is a nice way to gain knowledge and doing translation is like brain exercise for me. I prefer translating scientific articles.
