Although I have thirteen years experience, and visited over 20 countries in Africa, Europe, Asia and South East Asia, my career turned around five years into working in financial services and trade marketing. After I graduated from University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and started working in Insurance as a risk underwriter, followed by Trade Marketing representative position. Despite taking professional exams like the Chartered Insurance Institute in the UK, my passion was in poverty eradication, and when I was awarded a full scholarship by University of Bologna to pursue MBA studies in Green Energy and Sustainable Businesses, I didn’t' look back.
Since completing studies, I supported business modelling research of the European Energy Efficiency Fund at Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP) in Rome, also had influences attending the Brussels Green Economy Winter School, the Sustainable Energy Strategies discourse at Politecnico di Milano/International Centre for Science, and Lugano Social Business Conference in Switzerland.
The insights gained encouraged me to write this book initially as a compass to refer to while working in the sustainable development space.
In 2020 as I see headlines on most channels about extreme weather events across the world, and tensions for companies reconciling their social and environmental footprint, I felt inspired to publish this book. I also felt inspired due to the book's content that is less polarizing and attempts to unify an often-divisive discussion on climate.
