I was one from the team of translators from English to Portuguese of B&H Photo & Video website (http://www.bhphotovideo.com), catalogues and fliers. This is one of the biggest companies in the world in the field of selling photo, video, audio and electronic equipment, as well as its accessories, and they proud themselves in being “the world’s leading retailer of imaging products”, in their own words.

I also used to verse from Portuguese to English the e-mails that my superiors wrote in Portuguese in communication with the executives at the company’s headquarters in New York.

 

Translation for Subtitling for Movies and TV Shows

I am now a free-lancer translator and I perform services for the subtitling of movies and TV shows for Drei Marc and Bravo Estúdios, production companies that provide translation and subtitling services for Globosat, the country’s leading  Cable TV company.

I personally am the author of more than 500 (five-hundred) works, being movies for the channels Futura, Telecine (and its branches), Universal and Fox; series and TV shows for the channels Multishow, GNT, GloboNews, Universal, FX, Fox and SporTV; and also of some electronic subtitling for the Rio de Janeiro Film Festival, for the Anima Mundi animation festival, for the Cinesul Film Festival and for the FICA – International Festival of Environmental Film and Video.

 

Literary Translation

Being also a literary translator, I translate books for Editora Rocco publishing house, one of Brazil’s leading, biggest and most respected publishing companies, already with 5 (five) books translated for them: Guilty Pleasures – Laurell K. Hamilton, Sharp Objects – Gillian Flynn, Out – Natsuo Kirino, In The Woods – Tana French and The Bourne Legacy – Eric van Lustbader; 1 (one) for RAI Publishing House: 7 Questions You’re Asked in Heaven – Ron Wolfson; and 1 (one) for Novo Século Publishing House: Heavenly – Jennifer Laurens.
