I am not just a translator; I am a linguistic researcher dedicated to bridging gaps and fostering understanding across cultures. My journey into the world of languages began in Genoa, where I developed a deep appreciation for the power of words from a young age.
Initially, I graduated from the Experimental Classical Lyceum G. Mazzini in Genoa. With a passion for anthropology and linguistics, I enrolled in the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures, specializing in Intercultural Communication. My fervour for linguistics and teaching prompted me to adapt the standard study plan, taking examinations in Glottology, General Linguistics, Italian Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, Intercultural Pedagogy, Language Teaching for Foreign Languages, and Teaching of Italian for Foreigners. I graduated with a thesis in Modular Teaching of the English Language (B2). Afterwards, I concluded the Master's Degree Course LM-14 at the Department of Modern Languages and Literature, where my thesis delved into the fields of linguistics and pragmatics. Specifically, it examined communication abuses, conflicts, and the intricate applications of implicit manipulation. Furthermore, I pursued a Master of Ancient Literature and Cultures, where my thesis explored the precursors of linguistics in Latin and Greek culture, offering insights into the historical roots of linguistic inquiry.
With this academic background, I embarked on a quest to unravel the intricacies of language, delving into the rich tapestry of dialects, idioms, and cultural nuances that define our global community. From the rhythmic poetry of literature to the technical precision of legal documents, I have honed my skills to capture the essence of each language and convey it with clarity and precision.
Over the years, I have accumulated a wealth of experience in teaching English and Portuguese, as well as Italian for Foreigners, both privately and within private schools and volunteer associations. Additionally, I have collaborated as a translator for various websites and blogs, served as a proofreader and copywriter for authors and thesis writers, and contributed as a writer to online magazines, blogs, and poetic movements. Presently, I offer educational tutoring support at the University of Genoa and teach in high schools.
As a freelance translator, I have earned a reputation for delivering translations that not only reflect linguistic accuracy but also resonate with the unique cultural context of each piece. Whether literary works, academic papers, or business documents, I approach each project with meticulous attention to detail and a deep respect for the integrity of the original text.
Beyond my professional achievements, I am committed to promoting cross-cultural understanding and celebrating the richness of diversity through language. By breaking linguistic barriers and facilitating meaningful communication, I endeavour to build bridges of understanding in our increasingly interconnected world.
With an unwavering commitment to excellence in translation, I am dedicated to delivering translations that not only uphold linguistic precision but also encapsulate the cultural essence of each piece. Through meticulous attention to detail and a profound respect for the source material, I strive to bridge linguistic divides and facilitate meaningful communication in our increasingly interconnected world.
Join me in celebrating the art of translation and the profound connections it forges across diverse cultures and languages.
