I am a very enthusiastic person with a passion for teaching, translating and interpreting languages. I am deeply interested in languages in general and in particular English, French, and Portuguese, the latter being my native language. I began teaching and translating as a hobby, gradually it became my full-time vocation. In order to become a fully licensed professional I took a BA in Modern Languages and Literature in English and Portuguese at Michelangelo College in the city of Brasilia, Brazil; and recently I received a MA in Applied Translation Studies from London Metropolitan University. I also hold a Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) and a Certificate in Advanced English (CAE), both I qualified at the University of Cambridge. As you will see from my Curriculum Vitae, I have been working as a freelance English into Brazilian Portuguese translator, interpreter, and proofreader since 1998 when I started working in translation projects of academic research work and other documentation in the field of IT applied in education for the Faculty of Education from the University of Brasilia (UNB) and Associação Brasileira de Estudos Canadenses (ABECAN) – Brazilian Association for Canadian Studies. I mainly specialise in the fields of economics, politics, business, social sciences, and literature.
